We here in the Northwest are subject to the change of seasons.  Some of our distant customers may only notice the shortening of days, but here at the Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie, the dog days of summer have turned into blustering hail, wind, and rain.  It is these dramatic forces of weather that inspire the return of our popular Solstice Blend as we await the return of the light.

The Solstice Blend is accompanied by our signature spice blend to be added to each brew.  It is available for only a limited time as we transition from fall into the spirit of the holiday season.  So take a look at our coffee and warm up with a pound of this delicious combination of coffee and spice. It will be our “Feature coffee” at $12.95/lb. through December and while supplies last.

In addition to this month’s featured coffee and our coffee promotion we are also launching the expansion of our charitable gifts program.  We at TVICR are honored to contribute financial support through the retail sales of our coffee to the nonprofit, Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN).

Most nonprofit organizations are experiencing a serious decline in charitable gifts, which are making it even more difficult for them to carry out their important work. Because of our commitment to the Indigenous Environmental Network, we at TVICR will contribute $1.00 from the sale of each pound of our most popular coffee, Midnight that we sell from our online store between December 1st through December 15th.

The IEN supports communities by providing technical information, assists national and international networks in forming environmental campaign strategies, including food and tribal sovereignty.

Why should you, anyone or we care?  Because IEN and other indigenous people around the world are at the vanguard of activism to restore and reclaim the earth’s natural resources from those whose practices foul and fail to protect them for either this or any other generation.  Regardless of the venue, near or far, those who labor to reclaim the Earth merit our political and financial support.

In these uncertain economic times, we know how difficult it can be to budget for holiday gifts and charitable giving. This is a superb opportunity for you to do both with one click. Visit our online store today to shop for all the coffee lovers on your list, and consider giving a 6 or 12 month coffee subscription to that extra special person on your list. We wish you Peace.
